Research Interests: Virgine is interested in studying the intersections between culture, citizenship, and information technologies. She is a member of the CULTPOP Laboratory Research, the Center for Asian Stidues at the Fluminese Federal University (UFF), and MidiAsia at UFF. Her most recent research examined the activism of Brazilian K-pops fandoms during mobilizations in support of the Black Lives Matter movement on the Twitter platform. For her PhD, she intends to focus more specifically on this group, addressing issues such as orientalism, intersectionality, migration, and cultural sociology.
